Hello, everyone!

As many of you know, I’ll be getting married this weekend (!!!) and it can’t come fast enough! As a bride who is also the office manager at a dental office, I get asked a lot about which whitening/cosmetic/preventative measures are important for anyone who is getting married or has an important upcoming event. So, I decided to put together a timeline to help everyone prepare for their big day!

6+ Months to Go Before the Big Day

  • Begin your health regimen! Whether you’re planning to hit the gym, eat healthier or visit your physician to make sure everything’s in order for the big day, now is the time to start.
  • Go to your regular dental hygiene appointment. Now is not the time to let this one slide! Make sure your teeth are healthy and clean for the months of excitement ahead. This is also a great time to discuss cosmetic options (such as whitening or Invisalign) with your doctor, if you plan on making any adjustments before the big day! Make sure your fiance is good to go, too!

3 Months to Go Before the Big Day

  • Try to start wrapping up any health concerns you began addressing over the last few months. Get any advised test or procedures out of the way so you can enjoy your last three months before the wedding!
  • Begin a strict skincare regimen and take care of any skin treatments you want done before the big day, including facial aesthetics like Juvederm or Botox. Prepping in advance will ensure that there are no last-minute skin problems to deal with near the Big Day.
  • Make your teeth whitening appointments! This will guarantee that your appointments are all set and at times that work around your busy wedding-planning schedule.

2 Months to Go Before the Big Day

  • Begin your chosen teeth whitening treatment. Giving yourself two months to go in for your visits and achieve your desired result will ensure that you have enough time to get that wedding white shade you’re looking for!
  • Amp up your health routine! With only two months to go, now is the time to amp up your workouts and healthy eating plan (or, you know, time to go get yourself some ice cream because–let’s face it–you deserve it!)

1 Month to Go

  • With all of the stress coming to a head, now is great time to hit up your local yoga studio, picturesque park, or favorite coffee shop for some meditation and quiet reflection. With all of the attention people give to their physical health leading up to the wedding, it can be easy to overlook your emotional well-being. Give yourself the TLC you need!
  • Start a course of physician-approved vitamins–especially that vitamin C! No way can you be sick for your Best Day Ever!
  • Keep it up with your whitening appointments! By now, your should be well on its way to bridal perfection!
  • Make (or confirm) your next dental cleaning appointment, which should fall right before your big day!

2 Weeks to Go

  • Go to your last whitening visit and ask the doctor to make any adjustments if desired! You can even combine this last whitening pass with your scheduled hygiene appointment. Your smile will be ready to dazzle when you walk out the door!
  • Brush and floss after every meal! This is especially important now that you’ve invested in your smile. Keep your teeth clean and white by brushing immediately after meals, especially if they include coffee, wine, soda, or chocolate.

1 Week to Go

  • Pack for your wedding day! Don’t forget to include emergency items like floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, breath mints, and lip balm.
  • Practice your smile! We know that sounds silly, but many photographers suggest practicing your smile in the days leading up to your wedding. This helps you learn which smiling poses are the most flattering for you so you can smile with confidence in every photo.

Best wishes for you and your loved ones on your special day!

Sincerely,

Garianne Seawright

Office Manager
